OUT & OUT
(June 2025)

Out & Out portrays the witch hunts perpetrated on women thrown out of the British Armed Forces for being gay. This cruel and inhumane practice existed from the 1950s to the year 2000 and inflicted severe damage to untold numbers of women. Out & Out tells some of their stories and shines a light on a human rights abomination which must never be forgotten.Their story has not ended yet.

Voices

As part of the performances for Out & Out, we reached out to ex-service women who had been affected by the play's themes and asked them to share their voices and opinions on what things were like and how they are now.

We were not able to use the whole of the recordings that we got sent, but they are available to be listened to below.

Jacqui Swan-De La Maziere

Stories

The accounts below are based on real stories from a collection of real women; however, the names of these people are fictional.
